Sinemia App Concept

In late April of 2019 the MoviePass™ competitor, Sinemia, ceased operations in the United States due partially to a class-action lawsuit over improperly leveraged fees. These fees were instituted to mitigate fraudulent activity but spectacularly poor user interface design and constant glitches made avoiding fees impossible.

This app design concept resolves the misguided user interface designs and speculates on the use of Instagram-style story immersion to increase user engagement with current and upcoming film trailers, allowing room for app gamification, and expanding on a business model actively being explored by all similar subscription services of the time. A near-identical design execution was rolled out globally by Netflix on May 1st, 2019.
